Not really enjoying RSS. I couldn't get on to Bloglines, it kept telling me there was someone with my email address. VERY frustrating. I finally got on to GOOGLE READER and created an account. I have been reading the tutorials but they don't seem to help. I can't figure out how to input my websites.
Would I use this in school? Probably not, it's too confusing for me, our district has the site blocked, and we don't have enough student computers. (Inner city with not enough funds.)
At this point I'm not sure if I would ever take a Web 2.0 class on line again. Our district offers computer classes and having someone there to answer questions seems more helpful than sitting here becoming frustrated ever night. (Sorry, I'm venting.)

#7 (WEEK 3) Technology
What a strange coincidence that last Friday I spent over an hour online searching for a new digital camera. I ordered it that night, with no fast shipping, and I received it in 3 days. Beware about paying the extra amount to have it shipped faster. Back to the camera: I purchased an Olympus FE-340 with a 5x optical zoom and a 4x digital zoom. I knew I didn't want to spend over $200 since I will be taking it to school for pictures. My track record of personal items stolen at the school go from a camera to a cell phone to a watch so anything over $200 probably wouldn't be a good idea.
I have only gotten as far as taking a few pictures of my dogs and everything seems fine. Purchasing online was very easy, free shipping and $20.00 cheaper than the sale price at Best Buy or Circuit City. Both stores would have matched the online price of the camera but not the online price of the memory card.

Week #6 Flickr Trading Card

I don't think I could have done this without my son showing me what to do. It is so easy when someone knows what they are doing.
This is a picture of one of my winning track teams.

#3 Week 2 #5 Week 3
Having a really bad morning. I spent the last hour reading about Flickr and tried to import a picture with no luck so I decided to go back to my blog and work on another avatar. Well some how I deleted my original avatar and only my daughters avatar is showing. When I went back to recreate my original and went to my blog to add it the "Choose a new page element" that had disappeared. I think I need my daughter or son to sit with me through this course because at this point I am too frustrated and not getting anything out of it. My son is home from Penn State in July so I might put everything off until then. Sorry!

No Avatar
Well the avatar thing is not working out. I've can't get around the exporting thing. I'll try a few more times before I move on.
I see the time changed from Pacific to Eastern. Well back to the avatar, hopefully she'll be on next time I write a post.

Week 1 #2 Lifelong Learning Habits
7 &1/2 Habits
Easiest: PLAY,PLAY,and more PLAY! I went from being a physed teacher to a librarian. Needless to say I do not have a "quiet" library, I get more enjoyment out of the fact that kids in my middle school are now actually coming into the library. If you make it fun they will come.
Hardest: Using technology to my advantage. I just finished my third year as the school librarian. When I took over the library we had 4 computers, we now have 11 and two wireless laptop carts. I feel that my weakness is the technology piece, that is why I signed up for this course. I am looking to learn a lot and incorporate a lot into my upcoming school year.

Overcome frustration
Yeah, I found the answer myself. I changed the time to post at 8:10 am so I am assuming it is not Eastern time. I'll have to wait and see what happens in three hours.
Week 1 Frustration
OK, my first frustration with technology. I am writing down these posts but when I go back to my blog they are not listed. I am sitting here trying to open everything but I can't seem to find the correct buttons to press. My daughter returns from California tonight so I'll be asking her tomorrow if I can't find the answer today.
